Whetu
Inspiration comes from all sorts of places and can strike at any time. I’d been asked to knit something in a lace weight for a local knitting shop to show in store. I saw this as a fantastic opportunity to design something light weight, easy to knit and suitable for introducing knitters to both lace and beading but the more I thought about it all the harder it seemed to be.
Then one day I was on a phone call, it was a long call and before long I found myself doodling. By the time I hung up I knew I had something special and so it was that Whetu was born.
This pattern is both fully written and charted.
Yarn: 200m of 2ply/lace weight yarn.
Beads: Beads are optional (But I highly recommend them!), it uses approx. 300, I recommend size 6 seed beads.
Needles: 4mm circular or straight needles.
Other: Stitch markers, 0.75mm crochet hook for adding beads, yarn needle, pins (for blocking).
