Inspiration comes from all sorts of places and can strike at any time. I’d been asked to knit something in Malabrigo Silkpaca for a local knitting shop to show in store. I saw this as a fantastic opportunity to design something light weight, easy to knit and suitable for introducing knitters to both lace and beading but the more I thought about it all the harder it seemed to be. Then one day I was on a phone call, it was a long call and before long I found myself doodling. By the time I hung up I knew I had something special and so it was that Whetu was born.
Whetu is an infinity scarf that is worked flat in one piece starting with an optional provisional cast on and then joined either with a 3 needle bind off, sewing or kitchener stitch.
This pattern has been fully test knit and includes both full written instructions and easy to read charts.
